Manila Wedding of Irene and Melvin “All Things Good”
Directed by CarmelaThere will be times that it will hurt so bad. So bad, that maybe, you’d come close to term with the scabs that will no longer heal. It will hurt so bad that you’d feel like you can never trust yourself and another person again, and the walls that you built will always be just that— walls. High enough to be climbed over. Strong enough to be broken down.
But then in that most mundane moment of your life, life will throw you a beautiful surprise. Someone, in your fast paced world, will come to make you stop and smell the flowers; will make you wait for the postman, just because this person’s old and calm soul loves gifting you with words that he writes with pen on paper.
At that moment, you’d believe in all things good all over again. Vivid colors will be all over grey. Everything is a little lighter and you look forward to better days. And at that moment, you’d know certainly– your walls are not meant to stay up, after all.
For Irene, Melvin was her reward for waiting.
Irene trusted that he will come home.
And Melvin made sure he will make it, no matter what.
If this isn’t love, then we don’t know what is.
